HOW TO GROW
Sowing: Direct sow in spring; this California Giant zinnia flower seed mix germinates best in warm soil. Plant just below the surface and keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which usually occurs within 7-10 days. Seedlings do not transplant well.
Growing: Water seedlings regularly until they become established, but do not over water. Though they flourish with occasional watering in dry weather, mature plants tolerate some drought. This plant grows best in rich soil, and may need light fertilization for best blooming. Pinch off the growing stems to encourage bushiness, and deadhead to prolong blooming. This plant attracts butterflies and bees.
Harvesting: For cut flowers, choose stems with flowers that have just opened. Strip the foliage that will fall below the water level, and place in water immediately.
Seed Saving: After their petals drop off, the centers of the flowers will darken and develop tight clusters of seed at the base. As soon as the seed heads have turned dark brown, remove them and spread them out to dry for several days. Thresh the dried heads to separate the small, arrow-shaped seeds from the chaff. Saving Zinnia flower seeds is possible by storing the cleaned seed in a cool, dry place.

Vibrant Beauties
I have purchased your California Giant Zinnias for quite a few years. They never disappoint! They are three to four feet tall and the flowers are large and vibrant. People driving past my house have actually stopped to tell me how gorgeous they are. When I took care of my mom, who had dementia, I would take her to the center of my Zinnia garden. I told her to stand very still and 'just watch the magic'. Soon, the butterflies, bees and hummingbirds returned … fluttering around our heads busy sipping nectar and collecting pollen. I will never forget the look on her face. Pure joy and amazement.

I received my seed order in exactly the number of days indicated when I placed the order. The seeds were packed very securely in a heavy resealable bag. So much better than seeds I've purchased from other sources. I planted the arugula on Sunday and it germinated and was up by Tuesday. The zinnias are planted and germinated in 4 days. I can't wait until they bloom!

The best of the best
The seeds that I have received from Everwilde are the best I've ever purchased. First, the foil packaging is not only beautiful, it keeps moisture from the seeds. The instructions are succinct, but thorough. The illustrated instrunctions are the same. A photo of the plant is on every package I've received. My only critique (as a graphic designer) is that yellow-colored type is one of the hardest to read. All caps is also harder to read than traditional upper/lower case usage. This critiques are trivial compared with the outstanding packaging. Finally, I love the Bible verse on the package. I haven't used the seeds yet, so I can't speak about them. But the care in creating outstanding packaging leads me to believe the seeds will be remarkable too. I highly recommend this company that seems to be the cream of the crop in plant seeds.

I live in Western North Carolina, and these Zinnias are absolutely gorgeous and are so easy to grow! I've actually had people stop their car to tell me how beautiful the Zinnias are. These California Giants are a healthy, good-quality seed product. Considering that I'm a beekeeper, I grow multiple varieties of flowers. I'm growing in Ohio, zone 6a if that helps. It's my first year using seed from Everwilde Farms but I'm confident! The bulk seeds come in a white resealable bag for easy handling and storing for years to come. For the record, I ordered 2 lbs and shared with family members and still have at least 1 lb left over. If stored correctly, zinnia seeds can last 4-5 years.

I grew these the summer of 2018 in NW Iowa, in heavy clay soil. After the first few weeks, I didn't water them at all. Zero mildew. Lots of seeds and excellent germination. They began blooming when about three feet tall and continued to grow and bloom till frost. At frost, most of them were several inches above 5ft. tall. They continue to pump out the nectar in brutal heat and migrating monarchs were all over them. Tiger swallowtails also like them. I recommend these flowers in all the butterfly/pollinator groups I belong to. My garden is almost entirely native plants but there will always be a big patch of these.
