HOW TO GROW
Sowing: Direct sow in late fall, pressing the seed into the surface of the soil. For spring planting, mix the Culver's root seeds with moist sand and store in the refrigerator for 60-90 days before planting. Keep the soil very lightly moist until germination- do not overwater.
Growing: Water seedlings occasionally until they become established, but do not overwater. This plant grows rather slowly, usually blooming in its second year of growth. Mature plants can adapt well to slightly drier soil, though they prefer moist or even wet soil. The plants may need support f planted in too much shade. This plant attracts bees and butterflies, and readily reseeds itself.
Harvesting: For cut flowers, choose stems with flowers that have just opened. Strip the foliage that will fall below the water level, and place in water immediately.
Seed Saving: As soon as the flowers fade, the slender spikes will begin to turn brown. Watch them carefully since the tiny seed can easily blow away in the wind. Shake the mature seed heads over a container to remove the ripe seed; repeat until all the Veronicastrum Virginicum seed has ripened. Store the cleaned Culver's root seeds in a cool, dry place.

Culver's Root Seeds
I have purchased a lot of seeds from Everwilde, and I have just started planting them. I won't find out until Spring how well all the different seeds germinate. However, I really like the Everwilde website and design to find exactly what I am looking for and I like the ability to filter in a variety of ways. Most things I wanted were in stock, and once I purchased the seeds got to me in the mail very quickly! Thanks!
Nothing sprouted
I followed the directions and got nothing. Not a single seed germinated.
Sorry to hear these did not perform. Please contact customer support and we can help with planting instructions and we can ship you a new packet or offer a refund!
Great selection filters for native plants
I have been trying to grow native plants for the environmental benefits and to support insect and bird populations. You're website made it so easy to identify native flowers for my region. The growing tips are also much appreciated.
great
arrived promptly and all germinated
