HOW TO GROW
Sowing: Direct sow either in late fall or early spring. Plant the little bluestem seed just below the surface of the soil, compacting the soil very firmly. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination, since this Schizachyrium Scoparius seed cannot germinate in dry soil.
Growing: Water seedlings regularly until they become established. This plant prefers dry and well-drained soil, and tolerates drought and heat well. It also adapts well to various soil types such as sand, rocky soil, and clay. Do not fertilize, since this plant actually prefers poor soil. It will eventually spread by rhizomes and self-seeding. This plant makes an very good choice for erosion control, and also provides forage and cover for birds and other wildlife. It is an excellent ornamental grass and attracts butterflies.
Seed Saving: At the end of the season, the seed heads will begin to ripen and turn white. Strip the fluffy seed heads from the stem. Separate the seed from the plant material. Store the little bluestem seeds in a cool, dry place.

Fine seed and FAST delivery. TYVM Everwilde Farms
Great germination
I grew these in pots for some of our clients(landscaping nursery manager). Great germination! Mine look a little floppy due to being fertilized and growing in 1 gallon pots under overhead irrigation for 3 months, but they do get slightly more blue and upright when planted in less rich soil. Everwilde is a great source for quality native seed!

Simply the best
This is simply the best source for high-quality, native prairie seed of any company I've had the pleasure of dealing with. I'll be a life-long customer.
Great quality seed
Impeccable germination rate for bluestem!
Excited
I wasn't sure if I'd get this planted before the cold weather, I'm excited t work on it in the spring
Quality products!
Will plant blue stem seeds in fall. Looking forward to them germinating next year. What I like most about Everwilde's products is the foil packaging that's guaranteed to keep seeds fresh as well as the in-depth planting and growing information that's right on the seed packets. Most seed packets just provide generic information but Everwilde provides information specific to the plant/ flowers. Also you get a lot of seeds in one packet. I used to purchase seeds from this company before they switched packaging glad I came back. Will continue to purchase Everwilde seeds!!! Thank you for a quality product.
Little Bluestem for Wildlife
The seeds came with beautiful packaging, showing planting time and sun requirement. Very reliable free delivery. Looking forward to having them grow in patches next year.
Smooth Transaction
Everything went great. Seeds now sprouting.
So far so good
I've received the seeds but it will be a while before it is possible to sow them (weatherwise) and even longer before I see the plants. But I received both my orders in excellent time. And the detail of information offered on the website is excellent and I find that am excellent sign. I plan to keep ordering seed from these folk.
Came quickly and sprouted
I always do a test of my seeds to make sure they are even viable and sprout before I go through with planting them and waiting. I ordered about 10 different types of prairie grasses (this is one of them), and they all have sprouted nicely, so I know they are good seeds. The shipment arrived very quickly, it only took a couple days from when I ordered. The seeds are packaged very nicely in gold packets. Very happy with the seeds, would order again! (Picture included, the plate did get bumped by my child so the seeds kind of moved on me..)

Great
Great selection and service
Everwilde had many of the native wildflower seeds I wanted for my Michigan pollinator garden. Rather than ordering from many seed sources, Everwilde became my primary resource. There's a great deal of information on the website for each plant which is really helpful. Customer service was very helpful and friendly when I called with a few questions and my order arrived quickly. Can't wait to get those seeds started!
Very Pleased!
I will know more at the end of summer. Excellent Service!!! Thank you
