HOW TO GROW
Sowing: Direct sow in late fall, pressing into the surface of the soil since this plant needs light to germinate. For spring planting, mix Azure Blue Sage seeds with moist sand and store in the refrigerator for 30 days before planting. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which usually takes 1-2 weeks.
Growing: Water seedlings regularly until they become established. This plant grows very quickly and needs little care, preferring dry soil. Mature plants tolerate heat and drought well, as well as thriving in sandy or rocky soils. Cut back the growing stems to encourage bushier growth. This plant attracts bees and butterflies, and will self-seed unless cut back after flowering has finished.
Harvesting: For cut flowers, choose stems with flowers that have just opened. Strip the foliage that will fall below the water level, and place in water immediately.
Seed Saving: The flower spike will turn brown and dry while the seeds begin to form. Watch the plant carefully, since Azure Blue Sage seeds will soon blow away with the wind. Shake the ripe brown heads over a container to remove the seed. Store Salvia Azurea seeds in a cool, dry place.

Very pleased with order
Purchases of Salvia Blue &Scarlet
Was pleasantly surprised to find the order processed quickly and efficiently. When the native seeds arrived, they were packaged in a really beautiful and informative, gold foil, resealable packet. Well done and very convenient! These seeds are destined for the new pollinator garden at the Public Park in Stockton, NJ. Will send photos over the next year to mark their growth as they develop into beautiful flowers. Will be buying more from Everwilde as this garden provides a much-needed salvation for struggling pollinators arriving on the air currents above the Delaware River.
Photo is wrong, or description is
That's NOT Salvia azurea. Azurea has loose panicles of broad-lipped sky blue flowers and sparse willowy leaves. Plant in photo is probably S. nemerosa.
So.. which seed is being offered here? The one in the photo, or the one it's being called?
Thanks for your input. The seeds that we are offering are Salvia azurea, we will have someone look into this photo mis-match issue.
Hope they grow here
Love the packaging. I won't plant these until late-fall/early-winter and then won't know until next year.
