HOW TO GROW
Sowing: Direct sow in fall for the earliest blooms, or after the last spring frost for early summer bloom. Plant just below the surface of the soil. A new crop can be planted every several weeks for continuous blooming until frost. For best results do not start these Linum Grandiflorum Rubrum plants indoors, since they do not transplant well.
Growing: These plants tolerate drought well and flourish in light, sandy soil. They attract bees and butterflies and readily reseed themselves.
Harvesting: These blooms make excellent cut flowers. Choose stalks with flowers that have just opened and place them in water immediately; strip the foliage that will fall below the surface of the water.
Seed Saving: Allow the red flax seed pods to dry completely on the stem; break them open to collect the flat, brown seeds. Store Linum Grandiflorum Rubrum seeds in a cool, dry place.

....are the best quality, I only buy seeds from here now!
Gorgeous!
The scarlet flax have come up from last year's planting very early this year (October, November), so I will scatter more seeds this spring. This flax is about my favorite wild flower - about 16" high, beautiful red with purplish hue, and blooming for months. They go well with other wild flowers and perennials. I live in southern California Zone 10.
I can't wait to plant these
I purchased 3 seed packets last year and was so pleased that I ordered many more. I can't wait for the weekend to plant.
Excellent products. Fast shipping
Love the service
I ordered seed expecting a wait came in, Few days
The packets are full of information regarding planting and the packaging keeps the seeds fresh .
Cheerful, lovely
2020. They popped up early and lasted until the hottest days of summer. They graced the garden with surprise and pleasure.
A challenge
Flax Seeds will be my 2021 Challenge. In the past my flax has been rather wimpy, but I am sure the problem has been with the grower (me!)
Keep on going
They have been in bloom from March, through an enthusiastic May display. I cannot wait to see what they look like in June... or maybe even July.
The color is visable throughout the garden.
Great service.
Received order quickly and great price. Received in a mylar zip packet that keeps seeds viable longer. Can't wait to plant!
scarlet flax
I love this flax - it blooms all summer and reseeds with care. Requires almost no water once started. Comes in very thick with hundreds of blooms and makes a great plant to use for side yards. My neighbors enjoy it!
