HOW TO GROW
Sowing: Direct sow Maximilian's sunflower seeds in late fall, planting the seeds 1/2" deep. For spring planting, mix the seed with moist sand and store it in the refrigerator for 30 days before direct sowing. To start indoors, sow seeds in a flat or individual peat pots, keeping the soil lightly moist and at a temperature of 65-70 degrees F until germination, which usually occurs within 10-20 days. Keep the seedlings moist. When the weather has warmed and the seedlings are well established, transplant outdoors. This plant adapts well to clay, rocky, or shallow soil.
Growing: This plant tolerates drought, though it flourishes with regular moisture. It spreads by rhizomes and can be aggressive, especially in moist or rich soil. Deadhead the flowers for prolonged blooming. Plants growing in partial shade or moist soil will reach taller than usual heights, and may need staking or support. This plant attracts bees and butterflies.
Harvesting: For fresh flowers, cut long stems of flowers that have just opened and place them in water immediately; strip the leaves that will fall below the water.
Seed Saving: After their petals drop off, the centers of the flowers will darken and develop tight clusters of seed. Harvest the seed as soon as it ripens, since small birds love to eat it. Cut the heads and spread them out to dry for several days. Thresh the dried heads to separate the seed from the chaff. Store the cleaned Maximilian's sunflower seeds in a cool, dry place.

Maximillian Sunflowers
I haven't planted them yet, but I can't wait! Ordering ... and in the quantity I wanted ... was really easy. Your site is very user friendly! I'm always on the lookout for eco-friendly and organic, sustainable products. Thank you for your service to our planet!
So far, so good!
Just about every seed successfully germinated, and just about every seedling survived (so far). They need more water than I'm able to provide during these scorching heat waves and drought, but they are struggling mightily. If they can hold out until better times, maybe they will flower. They're darned hardy, I'll give them that.
Great germination rate
I have tried to grow Maximilian's sunflowers from scratch multiple times before, but often the germination rate of the seeds was poor. These Everwilde seeds had nearly 100% germination (probably more like 90%, but really high anyway). So for the first time ever, I actually have lots of seedlings of this wonderful pollinator-feeder. Maybe I can update later once they have bloomed.

Very Pleased So Far
The price was very competitive compared to other listings on the web. their website was easy to use, shipped quickly, we will see how they germinate and grow
Still raining here
First sunny day and the seeds are in the ground, now the rain has not stopped. Have not been out to check for seedlings, but looking forward to it.
Satisfied
Seeds arrived and I'm excited to plant them, but i was charged $4.96 for shipping. I wouldnt take issue with it of they arrived Express or 2-day Priority, but i was feeling a bit duped because actual shipping cost was $0.83. Everwilde basically told me to deal with it because i knew what i was being charged, which was true. I just dont feel like i got the value that i paid for.
Seed Quality
Seed Quality was superior. These are the heathiest seeds I have ever held. The Packaging is wonderful-no moisture or sun is able to penetrate seed package. Seeds are well protected.
So far so good
My order processed and shipped to me in a timely manner. The packaging the seeds are in seems to be of high quality and I am looking forward to planting them in the spring. I will shop with this site again in the future.
