HOW TO GROW
Sowing: Direct sow blue chicory seeds in early spring, planting the seed 1/4" deep in loose soil; keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which should occur in 10-14 days.
Growing: This blue chicory plant grows best in rich soil, but also adapts well to poor soil. As the seedlings develop, make sure to remove all weeds and keep the soil consistently moist. Mature plants tolerate drought well. We cannot sell this seed to customers in CO or SD.
Harvesting: Cut young, tender leaves for fresh greens; do not freeze or dry them, since this deprives them of all flavor. They can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. The root can be harvested any time after four months of growth, but before the ground freezes.
Seed Saving: Allow the flowers to dry on the plant and develop into seed heads; the mature seed in the heads will be hard and brown. Remove the heads and spread them out for several days to dry completely. Crush the seed heads to remove the seed, and separate the seed from the chaff. Store blue chicory seeds in a cool, dry place.

Chicory seeds
I am to cheap to buy coffee and besides all the supermarket coffee has pesticide in it anyway. So I just go this biannual chicory and they pop up here there and anywhere I need a quick cup. Soooo cool!
Historic
Blue flowers are going to make a nice welcome for local bees. As a coffee type drink, I've seen it mentioned in historic era novels, old westerns, and perma culture forums.
High quality
Great packaging. Can't wait to sow seeds. It was helpful being able to locate seed varieties other companies lack. Fast shipping and detailed information on the packaging- better than other brands.

I LOVE CHICORY!!!
Just received my beautiful seed package and planted a ton asap!! Already had seedlings 24-36 hours later!! Tried both ways: directly planted in the soil and the other method: soaked first...EVERYTHING came up beautifully both ways! But, I waited 24 hours before doing the soak method after I did the direct planting method, and they are all sprouting at the same time! LOVE THIS COMPANY, THEIR PACKAGING AND THEIR SEEDS!!!

chicory
Excited to plant these in my cutting garden this spring. Often see them growing alongside the hwy east of where I live, so it will be interesting to see if they'll grow in central part of our state. Also I Love anything that blooms blue
Great delivery
Next year we'll see how they do. Fast and orderly shipping.

April
The seeds were packaged nicely and have proven to have a high germination rate. I'm very happy with every step of this purchase . Shipping was quick too.
Arrived quickly
The chickory seeds I ordered arrived quickly and appear to be in good condition. I planted them the next day and can't wait for them to emerge!
They were packaged in a mylar bag and the mylar bag was in a paper mailing envelope. The only problem was that the mylar bag was open at the end (looked like it had split along the seam) and the seeds had spilled out into the mailing envelope, so when I opened the mailing envelope they spilled all over the floor. Fortunately, it was on a wood floor, so I just swept them up and put them back in the bag. I don't think there was any damage or loss - just a little inconvenient. If you order these, be careful when you open them!
Excellent.
I'm impressed with the order so far. They shipped fairly quickly, and the seeds came in a nice resealable milar bag. Can't wait to plant them to see how they grow!
